Inside the Enigma cipher machine

UX/UI Designer for a 3D simulator app

We are looking for an ambitious and talented designer to help us enhance our simulator.

About us

We are a group of freelancers who are currently working professionally in the field of web development mainly as software engineers. But apart from the money-making activities we are passionate about one particular 3D project we created some time ago that we want to take to a pro level now. That’s where you step in:

The Role

The UX Designer will play an important role in the product enhancement team. S/he will improve the performance and experience of the product by redesigning it from scratch and expanding the functionalities greatly from current state. The UX Designer plays a critical role to ensure that both the interaction and visual design of the product create a compelling user experience.

Technical Information

This is a remote working role, but Poznań will be the preferred location. Most of the time you will be able to work from your home office, the garden shed, the beach or the slopes. We will not care as long as you deliver and get the job done. Usually the communication will come from various internet-based collaboration tools, but in case it’s possible – we’ll talk face to face from time to time.
This is a project based full-time B2B offer with contracts to be signed and extended for limited periods. We can arrange them tailor made for you. You are free to suggest how exactly you want to work from time and tasks management point of view. As long as you deliver the progress we expect. Just suggest the way you see it and let’s talk about it.

The Project

If you visit Poznań sometimes – you can check the Szyfrokontener where you’ll find our app exposed (the exhibition is mobile, so you’ll need to check out where it’s located at the time). You can also simply download it and take a look at the current state it is in. [Take your time to examine it now.]
So as you can see it’s all about the Enigma cypher machine simulated in 3D. And current actually means the state from April 2014 here exactly, developed during roughly 6 weeks of work. Its purpose back then was to be a lecture aid at Poznań Science and Art Festival for a professor that we cooperated with. Since he participated in the process – he knew how to handle the app. But as you can easily notice – you will need quite some time clicking around to get an idea on how to use it if you’re new to it. It’s very poor from the user experience point of view and now we want to redesign it properly. More precisely – we want you to redesign it from scratch for us.
